- How long have you been with Apex Childcare Ltd?
I have been working with Apex for almost 2 years.
- What do you do at our company?
As a child carer, I take care of the children’s needs and make sure that they are healthy and happy. I also take note of their milestones and engage with them through their interests. Each child is different and requires a personal approach.
- What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
Being welcomed by smiling children when opening the Childcare Centre’s door is the most wonderful feeling. I love the fact that I’m present in the early onset of milestones, such as the children’s first steps, and that my work contributes to their development.
It is so rewarding to encourage children to keep progressing and growing their skills. The parents are so grateful and thankful for all that we do, and it makes us feel appreciated.
- What inspired you to work in this career?
The simple answer is that I really love children. Since my sister had a baby, my love for childcare just kept growing. Working in this field was a natural course for me.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
In 5 years’ time, I hope to still be taking care of children as it is my passion and can’t imagine doing anything else.
- Do you have a word of advice for aspiring child carer students?
My advice is to continue their studies and be dedicated to what they do. The job is very fulfilling and the fact that you witness and contribute to the children’s development is of great satisfaction.
