Describe yourself in few words?

I'm just a simple man, I like simple things. But I am very passionate about my work because I love what I do and I have a steady source of motivation that drives me to do my best which is God and my family.

How did you come to work for Apex Group?

I'm a registered Nurse from the Philippines I came here to Malta to seek a nursing job, unfortunately I am not yet registered as a nurse here in Malta so I had a difficulty in finding a job here. A friend of mine who also works here at Apex introduced me to this company and I immediately fell in love with this company because the directors and staff are nice and very helpful with their employees.

What does your role as a community carer entail?

Being a Community Carer is not easy, you need to have a lot of patience in dealing with patients. This task involves a big role in our community which is helping clients with their immediate needs such as washing, dressing, assisting them during meals, giving medication on time, assisting them in physiotherapy and maintaining a proper hygiene. You need also to gain the trust of the client by getting to know them personally so you could provide emotional support and company which contributes positively to their wellbeing.

Did you ever think that you would be awarded employee of the year? How did you feel?

Honestly I didn't expect to be awarded employee of the year because all of us at Apex are working very hard to provide our client's the best healthcare service they could have.

I am very honoured and happy to accept this award!

What advice can you give to aspiring carers?

We have a big role in our community just be patient and be proud with your work because we are the frontline of care delivery, we are changing and saving lives by helping individuals to overcome their everyday difficulties. So just do what you do best and I assure you all your hard work will be awarded in the future.
